BC Place Stadium

Vancouver's BC Place Stadium has just undergone an complete makeover including a brand new retractable roof

BC Place Stadium has been a major Vancouver landmark and venue ever since it's opening a few years before the Expo 86 World's Fair. It's white Teflon roof that was supported by air pressure was visible for miles around. Recently however, BC Place has undergone a major retrofit. It now features the world's largest retractable roof of it's kind, which opens up the stadium to the outdoors for events held during nice weather. The interior has also been totally upgraded complete with new more comfortable seating.

BC Place is the home field for the BC Lions CFL football team as well as the Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Team. In addition, it hosts many other events, including concerts, trade shows of all sorts, and other sporting events. Of special note, it was the location of both the opening and closing ceremonies for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, although those events occurred just prior to the start of the renovations. BC Place can seat up to 55,000 spectators and features over 200 events every year.

Bus Connections

No Buses Needed. From Stadium-Chinatown Station follow the signs for the BC Place/Beatty Street Exit and go left (south) on Beatty for 2 blocks to the Stadium entrance.

From Yaletown-Roundhouse exit onto Davie Street and head east to Pacific Blvd. Go left (north) continuing where it turns into Expo Blvd. BC Place is straight ahead.
